The International
2007
Ficticious exhibition as part of the film set of Tom Tykwer's The International, various materials
For the film shooting of Tom Tykwer’s political action thriller The International (2009) the famous Guggenheim Museum in New York was replicated at the Babelsberg Studios near Berlin, in Potsdam. Julian Rosefeldt was asked to set up a fictitious exhibition of his works in the fake museum and to produce a new work for the iconic rotunda (The Opening, 2007/2009), both serving as the backdrop to the central action scene in Tykwer’s movie.
